Previous page Happy Baby, Happy Family Mothers and babies are at the heart of all we do. As a mom, I wanted our goods to reflect my enthusiasm for keeping babies' well-being. How did we get our start? I started babywearing when my first child was a few days old because it was the only way to keep her content and happy. I was never very happy with the products I used so I started making wraps and slings when my second child was born because I could not find a sling or wrap that was made from the right fabric. They were either too stretchy, too stiff or too hot. I also couldn’t find any designs I liked. What makes our products unique? Our slings and wraps are specially woven for babywearing, the fabrics will not stretch over time, and they hold the baby firmly in place but have just the right amount of give so they are easy to put on and comfortable to wear. They are all individually handwoven and hand-dyed with plant-based dyes. Also, all of our fabrics are made from 100% natural fibers, so they are all very breathable, comfortable, and lightweight. Why do we love what we do? I am very passionate about babywearing and I strongly believe in the benefits! When a baby can see the world from where their parents do (rather than from far below, like in a stroller) their senses are stimulated and their attention is engaged all while feeling safe and secure. Not only does this extra stimulation benefit brain development but the baby quickly develops a sense of security and trust when carried close in a baby wrap or sling. Babywearing is good for cognitive and social development of the child according to some studies. Hip Baby Wrap is a small women-owned business in Miami Florida. Our wraps and slings are all individually handmade in cooperatives under fair trade practices in India. Our business supports communities small villages and helps provide jobs for mothers and families to be able to work out of their homes. All of our products are made with non-toxic dyes, locally sourced high-grade cotton and electricity-free manufacturing. Next page

Perfect for hot summers in the southern United States. My baby wants to be carried everywhere and we also have a stretchy wrap but this is better for us as I am nursing. The linen is very comfortable, we wash it in the washing machine and air dry. My baby sleeps soundly in it when she’s tired. Ring slings in general have a learning curve but this one ended up being easy to use with tutorials. I’m about 6 ft tall and weigh 160 ish pounds so you can see in the picture the tail ends just past where the picture does without wrapping the rings. We got this when my baby was 2.5 months old and she’s 5 months now. Still using it and plan to until she doesn’t want to be carried anymore. There are comments about the color, how it’s scratchy fabric, etc and all I have to say is I think the color is beautiful and the fabric did start out a little scratchy but my baby was fine until we broke it in.I am desperately looking for a carrier 1) that doesn't hurt me and 2) my baby (3 months) will agree to ride in. I have an ergo, he won't go into it. I tried a hip seat and it hurt my low back, he is too little for backpack. He is a really big baby and very alert so he wants to be carried about and it takes often two arms to tote him around. I saw a lady at costco with a ring sling. Hers was Wild Bird brand, but when I looked them up, major sticker shock wow. I found this highly rated linen sling on amazon. BEAUTIFUL fabric, weighty, sturdy, and the blue berry color was elegant, almost a greyish blue heather. I would even dress up an outfit! It felt good for all of about 1 minute on. The fabric was very difficult for a beginning like me to manipulate, even though I watched youtube videos and read about pitfalls to avoid when wearing ring slings. My neck and shoulders aren't strong from former whiplash injuries. My baby shouted and squirmed and didn't look comfortable in it. He just was unhappy and tensed his legs so he wouldn't sit in a deep seated M position unless he was asleep. Oh well. I have to return it. This is a good sling and very quality and a great price if you are a ring sling wearer and your baby is a happy passenger. I think I'm going to have to tough it out until he crawls.....I purchased this ring sling for the color and the price. The violet is really gorgeous and vibrant. I wanted to try a ring sling because it seemed easier than a woven wrap, and I was looking for something to throw on quickly around the house when I needed one hand and a little bit of extra support. I also use knit wraps, but sometimes I do not have time to work the wrap, but need a place to hold a fussy infant ASAP.My comfort rating is only 3/5, because my back just really cannot stand the one shoulder support for much longer now that my bub is 10+ lbs, even though I know this is supposed to be supportive up through 35 lbs. This is true for my wraps, too, and I found the only thing that is good for long term wear for me is a soft structured carrier once we crossed the 10 lb threshold. The other reason comfort was dropped a notch is because this linen is stiff and a bit scratchy. I do know the more expensive wraps tend to be made from softer, more expensive fabric, but overall the price point for this and the limited use it will see versus my SSC make this a limited issue for us. My daughter is not at all bothered by the fabric, so it's more from an observational standpoint on my part.Got this for my kitten. Doesn’t stay taught, loosens very quickly and I have to readjust often. Also, if you’re overweight at all, this is not going to allow a ton of additional space for your kitten (baby) to grow and still be able to use this.Such a beautiful ring sling and well made, but not made for even slightly plus sized mama’s. 78-85 inches is a pretty standard length and the one I received was only 71. Unfortunately I had to return it and purchase from another company because it wasn’t long enough for me. Good quality fabric and I see no other issues with it, so if you’re average sized or petite this sling would probably fit you put perfectly! This sling is wonderful! It does take a little practice to get used to putting baby in solo, watch a YouTube video on how to use it, it will really help.Lighter weight so baby doesn’t get as hot. The fabric is a nice linen, will last a very long time. This is by far my favorite baby carrier.Personally my shoulder does get a little tired after a few hours walking around but all I do is lift baby with one hand for a bit and give my other arm some rest.I started using this when baby was 7 weeks old but I would be comfortable using right away with my next baby. I will recommend this sling to all my mommy friends!I have 3 children and have worn all three. My first two, I used a Moby and an Ergo. With my last baby, I decided I needed try a ring sling, since the Moby was too hot to wear, and he was too small for the Ergo. I can't tell you how amazing this sling is. It's so comfortable, more comfortable than any other wrap or carrier I've ever used. He also LOVES it because it's worn super snug. I can wash dishes, do laundry, and help my other children while he's completely content in this sling. He's currently 10 pounds, and even when he gets bigger, I can tell that this will still be comfortable to wear. I can't compare it to any of the higher end slings that are $100+, but there is really no need to. The fabric is beautiful, 100% linen, the rings are large, and the stitching is durable. I just placed another order for a different color because I love it so much.I have a moby wrap, an Ergo baby carrier and this ring sling. Out of all three this is by far the best carrier we own. Its the easiest to store on the go, and it is light weight and breathable. It is easy to transition baby in and out of and makes for great transportation of baby on road trips and shopping trips. It has great quality fabric and looks very fashionable as well as the best function for mom and baby. I would buy this again in a heart beat. The problem with the moby wrap and the ergo are that they are much more bulky and take time and an additional person to put baby in and out of. I can use this wrap with out assistance from my husband. Good quality
